i-Guide Robotics Inc. - About Us

The I-Guide Robotics system is an on-board computer that automates the commercial mowing process. It operates on a “learn and follow” system. Programmed by a smart phone or PDA, the computer utilizes a base station linked to the Global Positioning System (GPS), while the phone uses an internet based logarithm to first “learn” a precise mowing path performed by an operator and then “follow” it without an operator when the path is called up on subsequent mowings. The follow path is precise to within two centimeters of the original learn path and safety features have been meticulously designed into the operating system to halt the mower when any obstruction is in the way.

I-Guide has been in development for over three years, and while there is competition in the general arena of “robotic” mowing, most of it is concentrated in random pattern residential mowing methodology. On the commercial front, there is no competitor with intellectual property or an operating system that comes close to offering the dependability and precision I-Guide offers.

The prospective user base consists of landscape companies with large-scale commercial property maintenance contracts, school systems, state departments of transportation, municipal entities and independent operators with multi-property mowing contracts. The economic proposition I-Guide offers is to allow any of these entities to cut their labor costs (their biggest business expense) by sixty to eighty-five percent by replacing wages and benefits with a low hourly usage fee. In addition, I-Guide promises them a dependable operator that performs the job perfectly, every time – with no downtime, additional expense or management issues.

The general marketing plan is to reach the user base through mower manufacturers that offer I-Guide in select commercial models. Our goal is to follow the “Intel Inside” model – launching an I-Guide branding campaign in the appropriate trade journals (print and online) to raise awareness of the product and then partnering with each manufacturer as they come on board – supplying them with the marketing tools necessary to drive sales through their distribution channels.
